Low-ABV Negroni
A little alcohol goes a long way...
If you love a Negroni but don't always want a full-strength cocktail, this is one of my favorite soberish swaps!
A traditional Negroni is equal parts gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth, which means all three ingredients contain alcohol and the drink rings in at about 50 proof before dilution. This version keeps the real vermouth but swaps the gin and Campari for nonalcoholic alternatives, bringing it 80% down to about a 10 proof cocktail.
I also recommend equal parts dry and sweet vermouth to reduce the sugar content while keeping the complexity of the drink.
The result still has that bitter, botanical, slightly sweet Negroni flavor, but with dramatically less alcohol.
And this is exactly why I think nonalcoholic spirits aren't just for sober people. They're an incredibly useful tool for anyone who wants to drink less without giving up cocktails.
