10 Best Non-Alcoholic Wines for Summer

A roundup of some of my favorite non-alcoholic wines for the sunny months ahead.

Let's be honest: a lot of non-alcoholic wine misses the mark. But after tasting more than 200 bottles over the years, I've found a handful that I'd happily pour again and again. Whether you're looking for a crisp white for beach days, a refreshing rosé for backyard BBQs, or a bubbly bottle for summer celebrations, this guide has you covered. I've rounded up my favorites, all under $25 a bottle, low in sugar, and perfect for warm-weather sipping.

One thing I've learned after tasting hundreds of non-alcoholic wines: the more you expect them to taste exactly like traditional wine, the more likely you are to be disappointed. Removing the alcohol naturally changes the flavor, body, and mouthfeel, so it's best to think of NA wine as its own category rather than a direct replacement. Go in with an open mind, and you might be pleasantly surprised by what these bottles bring to the table.

What I Look for in Non-Alcoholic Wine:

1. Low-Sugar. Most people don't know that all non-alcoholic wines are required to include a nutrition label, so you can always check the calories and ingredients. Make sure the first ingredient is always dealcoholized wine and sugar is 5-7g max per glass. Any higher than this indicates there is a lot of added juice or sugar.

2. Accessible. Easy to find at an online shop or grocery store for an affordable price (these are all under $25).

3. Flavor Profile. Maintains some of the characteristics of a real wine. A non-alcoholic sparkling rosé with finer bubbles than a soda, a Sauvignon Blanc with notes of crisp green apple and acidity... these wines do exist! There is an entirely different category of non-alcoholic "wines" made from ingredients such as fermented teas, shrubs, juices, etc., but I've never found them to be a close replacement for real wine. Some are quite delicious, but if I want a true replacement here is where I'd start.

Giesen Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine

One of the most affordable at $20 per bottle, this is a bright bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine. It's off-dry and refreshing at only 20 calories per glass, so you don't have to worry about it being overly sweet. Leitz Eins Zwei Zero Non-Alcoholic Riesling

Personal rating: 7/10

Leitz Eins Zwei Zero Riesling is one of the better non-alcoholic wines I've tried. Crafted by the renowned German winery Leitz, it delivers classic Riesling characteristics with notes of peach, white grape, and bright citrus. While many non-alcoholic wines can lean overly sweet, this one stays balanced and crisp with a refreshing finish. Saint Viviana Non-Alcoholic Sauvignon Blanc

Personal rating: 7/10

Awarded one of the “Best Nonalcoholic White Wines” by Wine Enthusiast, this is an easy sipper with only 10 calories and 2g of sugar a glass. It’s off-dry with a hint of peach, apple, and a tart finish. Oddbird GSM

Personal rating: 8/10

Price: $25

Oddbird is one of my favorite non-alcoholic wine producers because of the craft that goes into every bottle. Their winemaking process includes sourcing high-quality grapes and letting the wine mature for up to 12 months before the dealcoholization process begins. The GSM Red (Greancge, Syrah, Mouvedre) has layers of dark fruit, is well-balanced with good body and tannin structure for a non-alcoholic red wine. Kolonne Null Non-Alcoholic Rose

Personal Rating: 8/10

This award-winning, non-alcoholic rosé from the South of France is delicate with mild notes of red berries and white peach. It has a hint of minerality and is off dry with about 5g of sugar per glass. Price: $22 at The Zero Proof (link applies automatic 15% off discount)

Noughty De-Alcoholized Rosé

Personal Rating: 7.5/10

"Noughty" alcohol-free wines by Thomson and Scott are some of my favorites, with both their Syrah and sparkling wine making my "Best Of" round-ups. I really like this still nonalcoholic rosé as well, which is light and refreshing with soft notes of strawberry and a nice acidity. Leitz Non-Alcoholic Pinot Noir

Personal rating: 7/10

A bright and fruit-forward pinot noir with a tannic body. Good balanced acidity, though a little thin in the middle. Noughty AF Sparkling Rosé

Price: $22

Thomas & Scott "Noughty" alcohol-free wines are some of my favorites, and I highly recommend their Syrah and Sparkling Chardonnay in addition to this lovely rosé. Their wines are organic, sustainably sourced, and free of unnecessary fillers. This rosé is clean, refreshing and crisp, with only 20 calories and 6g of sugar per glass. Best NA Canned Wine: Leitz Eins Zwei Zero Non-Alcoholic Canned Rosé

Personal rating: 6.5/10

Crafted from Pinot Noir grapes, this non-alcoholic sparkling rosé captures that light, summer feeling. It has bright notes of red berries, rose hips, and a soft minerality, with lively bubbles that keep it crisp and refreshing. It’s great on its own or as a base for spritz-style mocktails. Best Grocery Store Option: Mionetto Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Wine

Personal Rating: 8/10

At only $16 per bottle this is the best bang for your buck, and you don't have to special order it. I've seen it at every Kroger in my PNW area and it's delightfully zesty and crisp, and won't break the bank. Definitely the best grocery store find of the year and perfect for mimosa mocktails. One tip to improve non-alcoholic wines...

Not every bottle is going to be a winner, and that's okay. One of my favorite tricks for improving an underwhelming NA wine is adding a few drops of non-alcoholic bitters. If a red wine tastes a little too sweet or juice-like, aromatic bitters can help balance things out while adding a touch of spice and depth. For wines that feel a bit flat, a more complex bitters blend can bring some much-needed character to the glass. Orange bitters are especially nice in crisp whites and rosés during the summer months. $30 for a sample set. Nonalcoholic Wines I'd Stir Clear Of...

If you're walking down the grovery aisle and see Stella Rosa, Zilch or "Fre" Nonalcoholic Wines I'd run in the other direction. Most are made with enourmous amounts of added sugar and juice (always check your nutrition labels) and don't come close to emulating the real deal.
