A zero-proof Hot Toddy made with a homemade cinnamon clove syrup
Whether you're sick in bed or just coming inside out of the rain, this is the perfect drink to warm up with on a cold fall or winter day. As the weather turns to drizzle and clouds for the next 6-8 months in my hometown, Seattle, I know I'll be sipping this one a lot!
I'm making this recipe with a homemade cinnamon clove syrup that adds cozy spiced notes to this warm drink, alongside one of my favorite zero-proof whiskies, Bare Zero Proof Whiskey.
Ingredients:
2.5 oz Bare Zero Proof Whiskey
.5 oz cinnamon clove syrup (tinker to taste)
.75 oz lemon juice - about the juice of half a lemon
4-5 oz boiling water
Garnish with cinnamon stick and lemon wheel
Instructions:
Add the whiskey, syrup and lemon to a mug. Stir to combine.
Top with 4-5 oz of boiling water.
Give a gentle stir.
Garnish with a slice of lemon and/or cinnamon stick and enjoy. Cheers!
