Plum Ginger Mocktail

The perfect mocktail recipe for autumn

If you're looking for a great recipe for a delicious autumn mocktail, look no further than this refreshing Plum Ginger Mocktail. It's easy to make and is perfect for sipping on a cool fall evening.

For this mocktail recipe I made a homemade plum simple syrup with Italian plums from my friend's backyard. This syrup comes together in a snap, and can be stored in an air-tight container in the fridge for 10-14 days. I especially love the plum color for fall. Depending on the varietal of plums you use, yours may range from pinkish hue to a deeper red. The flavor is incredible - like plum cobbler!

Plum Simple Syrup - yields 1C
  • 5 pitted plums

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 oz plum simple syrup

  • 2 oz non-alcoholic gin

  • 1 oz lemon juice

  • 1/2t grated ginger

  1. Add plums, sugar and water to a small saucepan and bring to a simmer.

  2. Simmer 3-5 min (until the plums start to breakdown), then remove from heat. Let stand for 20 min.

  3. Strain out the plums and let the syrup cool. You can keep this chilled in the fridge until ready for use.

  4. Pour 1 oz plum simple syrup into cocktail shaker. Add gin, fresh lemon juice and grate fresh ginger on top.

  5. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for 15 seconds.

  6. Strain into a martini shaker and garnish with a lemon twist. For a lighter version, you can serve this topped with soda on the rocks. Cheers!
