Cinco de Mayo is a lot more fun when you’re not stuck playing bartender all night, and that’s where these batched mocktail recipes come in handy. If you’re hosting and want easy pitcher margaritas or big-batch mocktails that guests can serve themselves, these recipes keep things simple without sacrificing flavor. Think fresh citrus, crowd-pleasing flavors, and make-ahead drinks that let you actually enjoy your own party. Whether you’re going fully alcohol-free or just keeping things lighter, these batched Cinco de Mayo drinks are designed for real life: minimal effort, maximum vibe, and no next-day regret.

Many of these recipes can be made with or without a nonalcoholic spirit, though one will greatly help you recreate the flavors of a real cocktail, sans booze. If I were going to purchase one bottle of non-alcoholic spirits to make drinks with this summer it would be tequila for the robust flavor profile and versatility. You'll see it listed in many recipes below and this one by Free Spirits is my top pick (also available on Amazon). I reviewed 10 other tequilas and this one is just the best. It's low calorie, tastes delicious with notes of agave, pepper and charred oak, and easily will help you craft drinks that wow your guests. Cheers!

Pineapple Coconut Margarita (Pitcher):

  • 3 cups pineapple juice

  • 1 cup coconut milk (shaken from a can)

  • .5 cup fresh lime juice

  • 2-3 TB agave

  • 1 cup sparkling n/a tequila

  • Splash of sparkling water (add last)

Instructions:

Mix pineapple juice, coconut milk, lime juice, and agave in a pitcher. Chill for at least 1 hour. Right before serving, add sparkling water and stir gently. Serve over ice with a salted or toasted coconut rim.

Citrus Hibiscus Sangria Mocktail (Serves 4-6)

  • 3 cups brewed hibiscus tea (cooled)

  • 1 cup orange juice

  • ½ cup pomegranate juice

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or agave

  • Sliced oranges, limes, and berries

  • 1 cup sparkling water

Instructions:

Combine tea, juices, and sweetener in a pitcher. Add sliced fruit and refrigerate 2-4 hours. Add sparkling water right before serving in wine glasses.

Paloma Mocktail

Frozen Paloma Mocktails (Makes 4):

  • 1.5 cups ruby red grapefruit juice ice cubes - freeze the night before

  • 1.5 cups n/a tequila

  • .75 cup fresh lime juice (about 8 limes)

  • 2-3 TB agave

  • 4 oz grapefruit soda

Instructions:

Freeze your juice in an ice cube tray the night before - this prevents the drink from being too watered down. Blend all five ingredients together until smooth. Depending on your preference you may need to add a little extra ice or grapefruit soda. I love to serve this with a Tajin (chili salt) rim and slice of lime or grapefruit.

"Trick Me" Scratch Margarita (Serves 4):

  • 2 cups n/a tequila

  • 1 cup fresh lime juice (about 8 limes)

  • 1 cup orange juice

  • 2 oz agave

  • 1 cup sparkling water

  • Optional: chili or sea salt for the rim, lime wedges to garnish

Instructions:

In a pitcher, combine NA tequila, lime juice, orange juice, and agave. Stir well, taste and adjust sweetness/acidity to your liking. Chill for at least 1 hour (this matters for flavor). Serve over ice in salt- or Tajín-rimmed glasses and garnish with a lime wheel. Try freezing slices of lime or small peppers in your ice cubes the night before for a wow factor!

Cucumber Margarita Mocktail (Pitcher)

  • 1.5 cups cucumber juice (roughly 2-3 cucumbers, blended and strained). Or Suja has a nice cucumber-pineapple juice that works well here

  • 1 cup n/a tequila

  • 3/4 cup lime juice

  • 1/2 cup agave

  • 1 cup cold water or coconut water

  • Fresh mint to garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Prep your cucumber juice by peeling and chopping 2-3 cucumbers. Blend until smooth and strain through a mesh strainer to yield 1.5 cups of juice. Combine with tequila, lime juice, agave and water. Chill for at least an hour. Serve in salted rim (optional) glasses filled with ice and garnish with a cucumber slice and mint. Tip: add a few slices of jalapeno to the blender with the cucumber for a spicy kick!

Dragonfruit Margarita (Makes 4-6 Servings)

  • 2 C frozen dragonfruit (I’ve found it at Target, Trader Joe's and Safeway)

  • 1.5 C Free Spirits Non-Alcoholic Tequila

  • 1 C pineapple juice

  • .5 C fresh lime juice

  • 1 C of ice (you may need to adjust based on desired consistency but start here)

  • Garnish ideas: salt or sugar rim, slices of fresh dragonfruit or lime

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into rimmed glasses (if using sale) & garnish.

Try making Pineapple Flower Garnishes with this recipe, they look beautiful on top of margaritas!
